Product DescriptionMepilex Border is an absorbent and self-adherent soft silicone dressing. It consists of:• a soft silicone wound-contact layer (Safetac)• an absorbent pad in three layers: a polyurethane foam, a nonwoven layer and a fiber mixture with super absorbent polyacrylate fibers and• an outer film which is vaper permeable and moisture and bacteria proof. Safetac TechnologySafetac is a patented soft silicone adhesive technology. Dressings with Safetac technology are atraumatic upon removal. These dressings minimize trauma to the wound and the surrounding skin, which minimizes pain to the patient. The risk of maceration is minimized by sealing the wound margins. Mode of ActionMepilex Border absorbs exudate, maintains a moist wound-healing environment and minimizes the risk for maceration.As Mepilex Border maintains a moist wound environment, supporting debridement, there might be an initial increase in the wound size. This is normal and to be expected.
