Description: A Scott #11 1850s stamp tied by a CLEVELAND O. FEB 16 CDS. Addressed to: David K. Grossgrove / New Berlin P.O. / Union Co. / Pa. The contents of two pages appear to be a response to a request from Mr. Grossgrove for some lottery winnings. The first page is dated 2/14/1857 and states that his certificate "is unfortunately Blank." The second page is a printed Drawing Of The Grand Charter Lottery Class 10 For 1857. It states at the bottom of the page "The following splendid prizes were sold in Class 10. The fine prize of $16,000 in a package of quarters to Kanawha county, Va."
