Description: This is a Minicraft 1/144 scale Plastic Model of a World War II Consolidated B-24J Liberator Heavy Bomber. The box for this kit has been opened and the model has been started -- the fuselage and wings are basically done. Remaining work is the detail work -- the guns, canopies, cowling and props, turrets, landing gear, paint job and decals. The kit has all parts, plans and decals to complete the model. The model may be assembled with the landing gear retracted or extended. If you chose the extended position, be advised that one of the wheels for this method was missing and has been replaced by a very very close match. Any differences between the original wheel and the replacement wheel should be hidden by the landing gear legs. If you chose the retracted position, the original kit parts are all there. If you don't plan to use the retracted wheels, which are really "half-wheels", they could be cannibalized to make an exactly correct wheel for the extended display. The best thing about this model are the extravagant decals for the model, which are for the Lead Assembly ship for the 852 Bomber Squadron of the 491st Bomb Group of the Mighty 8th. .
