Here stitched into modern laid paper wrappers. A bright copy with limited toning to the leaves. "Prepared by William Stephens, secretary of the Province, at the suggestion of the Trustees. The work was intended to counteract the agitation of Patrick Tailfer and his associates. It was read by Stephens before the court and is attested on page 24 [here page 16] by 25 of the most important inhabitants of the colony. The account is followed by the deposition of Lieut. George Dunbar of Gen. Oglethorpe's regiment, and an extract of a letter from Thomas Jones, dated from Savannah, July 1, 1740, and other letters" Decker 033-163c (for the first edition).
