Description: A rare 17.5mm sound print of what I THINK is Pathescope T.9301 "Claphands" (well called this in 9.5mm format anyway). This has Charlie Kunz, Teddy Brown and the Casani Club Orchestra performing shorts in a very tight band from the 1930s. If this was 16mm I would say there is about 550ft here which would run at something like 14mins. T.9301 runs for about this time so this looks about right. However, there is no leader or titles so I cannot know how much is missing at the start. The closing titles do appear however. I have made a video of the last song I think (short because of the file sizes permitted here). My video has no sound because I forgot to flip the image for digital sound extraction (I realise now contrast was not the problem). I assume the soundtrack works on a live projector as well as it usually did. I cannot say how well the film would play in a projector either (as I have used a scanner). It has sprocket stresses with splits/cracks into the film for a good deal of its length. However, there is no vinegar smell as far as I can tell. It will have splices, lines and other faults to be expected on film that is nearly 100 years old. It comes without a reel as shown in the picture...though I found it fitted comfortably on one of my 16mm split reels, so it could be mounted onto a 17.5mm reel if you happen to have a spare one (which I don't). I love the little ad at the end for 17.5mm "Talkies" An item not often seen I think. Thanks for looking. FREEPOST to the UK (1010)
