It is in its original uncolored states as first published, no modern color added. It is by M. [Monsieur] Rigobert Bonne, from his Atlas de toutes les parties connues du globe terrestre, published around 1780, a facsimile copy of the title page is included, which is undated. Bonne worked under Jacques Nicolas Bellin and succeeded him as the Royal Hydrographer of the King of France in 1773. Bonne's maps reflect his royal profession in the study of oceans and coastal mapping in the great age of ships. The maps are considered some of the most accurate of the period. The map is not mounted nor matted, being sold as a single sheet as seen in the first pic. A very nice, well preserved original antique map! Size: The map image measures approximately 8 by 12 1/2 inches (20x32cm) on a 9 1/2 by 13 3/4" page (25x35cm) with a margin all around as seen in the pic. Condition: The map is in Good condition for its age, medium impression, blank on the reverse with a centerfold as issued. There is a minor half inch split on the edge of the centerfold and a small hole in the bottom right margin, otherwise it is very clean and would frame up well, see the pics for more on condition.
