Description: 1880's Antique Victorian Style Interior Door - C. 1885 Butternut Architectural Salvage. The dimensions are 30 7/8" x 78 1/2" x 1 3/4" thick. This is a great looking door with a very unique design featuring four horizontal raised panels and two vertical raised panels. The door has the original shellac (varnish) finish on one side, and an antique white painted finish on the other, each with an absolutely beautiful aged patina. This door is absolutely beautiful and is ready for installation! This is in Great condition with a beautiful old patina and is ready for display, use or your restoration. This type of wood was very commonly used in our area for the exquisitely crafted Victorian buildings from the 1860's to the early 1910's. Since then it has become virtually extinct except for fast growth trees for quick harvest. The grain and finished patina is absolutely beautiful and is truly unique (some refer to it as white walnut).
