Description: The quarters of 1819 are divided into Small 9 and Large 9 Guide Book varieties with both die marriages of the 1819 Small 9 sharing an interesting reverse with the digit 5 in the denomination repunched and two periods after the adjacent C. This near-gem also displays a bold obverse die crack extending from the rim between the first 1 and 8 in the date extending through Liberty's bust. Incredibly preserved, the smooth surfaces feature full originality and satiny mint bloom. Silvery gray in the centers and deepening to green and blue "storm cloud" toning at the peripheries.
