Description: Grayish steel with peeps of lighter silver toning in protected areas. A bit rough, as usual, and there are traces of shallow tin pest on the highpoints. These restrikes were struck circa 1828 using the original dies which were cracked and rusted, and the planchets were nearly pure tin which is a highly reactive metal. Pieces without any oxidation are extremely rare. Weight 150.4 grains. Ex; Tony Terranova -S am Nacol Collection Year - (1828) Variety - N 5-D
