Description: Ultra rare Vienna dwarf serpentine clock by Austrian clock master Wenzel SCHÖNBERGER circa 1860 Highest quality Austrian antique clocks such as this are entirely hand made and finished by time served master clockmaker's and should not be confused with the much cheaper mass produced German clocks. Austrian clocks like this were only made for the most discerning customers (who could afford them) and took many months to complete individually. Case is made in solid walnut ,movement is two train weight powered 8 day duration with chiming at half hour and number of hours at full hour. The movement has smaller winding barrels to assist with 8 day duration also has a Grahams dead beat escapement . Overall very good condition of the clock and its walnut case with nice lovely patina . However at some point in the past the right „wooden platform post” has been repaired and properly inserted and glued back to the backboard of the case. Furthermore the original lock is present still in door but the key is missing and the hook latch is used instead But I’m working on the key and will update soon if I was lucky with it or not . High - 94 cm Width - 36 cm Depth - 15 cm Dial Diameter - 19 cm The porcelain dial has barely noticeable hairline tiny cracks The clock is currently ticking away happily on the wall awaiting new home . Comes with original crank key,top and bottom pediments and original wall stabilisers Please see pictures for general condition of the clock International buyers are welcome and the clock will be well packaged and shipped via eBay’s Global shipping programme also insured for lost or damage.
