Description: 1861 Confederate States Act #270 Document Regarding SlavesUp for auction is a rare August 30, 1861, Confederate Act enacted by the Confederate Congress giving the procedure for slave owners to follow when their slaves taken. It also states that the Confederate States are not liable to make compensation to Confederate citizens' for property that is lost or destroyed. This circular was part of a scrap book ledger and was glued to the ledger page. The reverse shows a dated newspaper article. What a great piece of Confederate slave history and a wonderful and very rare edition to any Civil War collection. See photos for condition. Thanks for looking and good luck bidding.
