Description: 1861-O W-02 Seated Half Dollar The rarer of the Union issues, and probably the rarest die marriage in the entire series of 1861-O varieties. This one can be distinguished by the slightly cracked reverse WITHOUT the die clash in the shield combined with a strong rim on the lower obverse near the date. Essential for the 1861-o series and hard to find! This piece is extremely likely to have been from the SS Republic, but unfortunately has lost its CofA! Still, the obvious saltwater damage pattern, combined with the date, make this VERY likely to have come from the SS Republic.
