The original red cloth cover & pictorial pastedown were excised and laid-down onto the new red cloth binding. New blank endpapers were added and the original text-block & illustration plates were bound into the book. Restored, the binding is in fine condition. ( see the photos ) The hinges are tight. No markings. A long-ago child neatly hand-colored many of the illustrations. ( see the photos ) One of the color lithograph plates has old pencil scribble on the back side. The professional restorer trimmed the color plates, which were worn at the outer edge. The pages are otherwise in good condition. Professionally Restored & Repaired in the hope that this book will survive another 138 years! Carefully Packed for Shipment to the Buyer
