Description: This is a handsome, fine binding antique set of "The Innocents Abroad" - or, The New Pilgrim's Progress by MARK TWAIN. Circa 1880's - 1890's; Bernhard Tauchnitz; Leipzig, Germany. (Though the title page states "1879," the actual date of publication is unknown; Tauchnitz used the same title page for a number of years, making the actual date of publication difficult to determine.) Complete set in two volumes. Nicely bound in three-quarter leather with marbled covers, gilt lettering and accents on the spines, speckled page edges on all sides of the text blocks, and four raised bands on the spines. The set is smaller in size - each volume measures 6 1/4" tall x 4 5/8" wide. From the "British Authors" collection - Tauchnitz Edition.
