Written by Martha Beatrice Webb, an English sociologist, economist, feminist and social reformer and her husband Sidney James Webb, a British socialist, economist and reformer. With publisher's catalogue to the rear. CONDITION In the original full cloth binding. Externally, sound with rubbing and light bumping to the extremities. Light fading to the spines with the odd small mark to the boards. Small splits to the head and tail of the spines to volumes IV and VII. A 6" split to the cloth at the rear joint and spine of volume VII resulting in the spine lifting. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright with the odd small spot. Light spotting and minor age toning to the endpapers. Previous owner's bookplate to the front pastedown. Bookseller's label to the front pastedown of volume VIII.
