Description: This is a vintage original 1935 US Navy recruiting poster that features a group of sailors on the beach in Hawaii with text that reads: ON THE SANDS AT WAIKIKI – Bluejackets from the United States Fleet on the beach at Waikiki, Honolulu, T.H. Famous Diamond Head in the background. The lower margin is printed “NRB-17972-7-12-35-8M” which I believe indicates a 1935 publication date. This poster is printed one side only and measures about 17” x 14”. The number 361 is printed in the lower right hand corner. This is a vintage original unrestored poster which shows foxing, toning from age and light handling wear. The foxing is most pronounced along the top, bottom and left side edges and on the back of the poster.
