1938 D Walking Liberty Half Dollar 50C, Fine. Semi-Key to the Series!

Description: It drives me crazy when people list common coins splashing "key date" all over the listing. This lovely half happens to actually be a semi-key to the series, definitely the hardest one in the second set of Walkers if you are filling out a two-volume collection or short set. It came out of an old-time collection that was built through acquisitions from established coin dealers. It has toned nicely over the years, and appears to have original surfaces and be good for the grade. Hard to find nice specimens in this grade! The Walking Liberty Half Dollar features one of the most popular and iconic designs in American numismatics. Introduced in 1916 and minted until 1947, through World War I, the Great Depression, and World War II, the obverse features a bold and confident image of Liberty that projects strength and determination to persevere in tumultuous times. The reverse features an eagle perched on a rock with its wings raised in a defiant stance. This 1938 D, composed of 90% silver and 10% copper, comes from a large collection of a discerning collector, whose son is slowly parting with it.
