Description: Brake Shoe Self Adjuster - Eliminator Kit Fits 1947-53 Studebaker cars & 1949-53 Studebaker 1/2 ton trucks The brake shoes on these specific models were equipped with a complex Self Adjuster system, utlizing multiple parts that have to work in harmony. Today, many of these parts are very scarce or simply NLA, and when they can be found they are quite expensive. It's been our experience that the self adjuster components have a tendency to corrode and then cease to function, which can cause extensive damage to the brake drum. The easiest solution is to simply remove the self adjuster components. These special washers were originally an aftermarket item available in the early 1950's that allows you to remove the self adjuster parts, while still retaining the functionality of the brake system. (Removing the self adjusters without installing these washers will cause severe problems.) These washers are made in the USA and Zinc plated for rust prevention.
