Description: 1957 ROYAL COPENHAGEN rare color 1180 SOLDIER and PRINCESS Click images to enlarge Description This is a lovely Royal Copenhagen figure - model number 1180 - which stands 7 1/2 inches high, measures 4 1/4 inches wide and it was made in 1961. This figure is called the "Soldier and Princess" designed by Christian Thomsen one of the most prolific modellers of figures and animals who worked for Royal Copenhagen. His facsimile signature is to be found on the side of the plinth but it was difficult to photograph. On the base you can see the Royal Copenhagen crown and blue waves trademark together with the model number 1180 to the side. There is a small "u" underneath the letter "A" in Denmark which dates this figure to the year it was made - 1961. This is a very colourful and detailed group from the way the figures are standing together, the expressions on the faces of the couple and the soldier's uniform and the Princess's gown.
