Description: This is a nice example of a 1960 Fleer #28 Lou Gehrig Baseball Greats . I don’t think Lou Gehrig Qwaint gets the appreciation he should Lou Gehrig had a lifetime batting average of 340. He was a two time MVP. He was a seven time All-Star and a seven time World Series champion. He was seven shy of the infamous 500 Mark with 493 home runs Almost got the 3000 hits with 2721 he also won a triple crown and a batting title as well as having to step away from the sport early due to… Lou Gehrig’s disease ALS. One of the classiest and best players of that generation 113+ war says it all. Again, this was all also done on about a 14 year career. Imagine if he could’ve played 18 or 20 years like some of the greats that came after him some of the stats that he would’ve accrued. It’s safe to say that he would’ve very easily hit well above 500 home runs well above 3000 hits would’ve been it up with 125 to 135 war Which would put him in the top all time for wins above replacement this season before he retired due to his disease he had 29 home runs 170 hits bad at about 300 and was staring down the barrel of a degenerative neurological disease. His baseball reference page is covered in bold text meeting he was the leader of that category for that year and they’re all positive categories not like strikeouts and stuff like that.
