Description: For sale is a very moving oil painting of one of the scenes in the Stations of the Cross Fourteenth Station: Jesus is Placed in the Tomb Taking the body, Joseph wrapped it [in] clean linen and laid it in his new tomb that he had hewn in the rock. Then he rolled a huge stone across the entrance to the tomb and departed. that we may always provide for those in need. The painting is unsigned and was part of a large series of Stations of the Cross paintings. The painting was acquired from a Hudson Valley NY estate, but were said to have come from the Midwest in the Chicago area at one point many years ago. Painted on canvas board by National Card Mat & Board Co, of Chicago and Los Angeles. Condition: The painting with a vertical surface touch line (see pics). The edges with wear from frame contact from a previous frame. Other good with only age appropriate wear. Measurements: 40" x 30" Great standard size painting
