Description: Handsome fold-out 1962 Standard Oil road map of Missouri, printed more than 58 years ago. This map opens to 22" x 25½" and has good detail on old highway alignments, including U.S. Routes 40, 54, 60, 61, 65, and 66, with cartography by the Diversified Map Corporation. There are inset plans of St. Louis, Kansas City, Columbia, Hannibal, Springfield, St. Joseph, Cape Girardeau, Jefferson City, and Joplin-Carthage. This map was distributed by the Standard Oil Division of the American Oil Company in 1962 and is dated by the status of highway construction on I-44 and I-70. There is no printed date on the map. Population data is from the 1960 census. Condition: The map is in very good, lightly used condition, bright and clean, with a few faint pencil marks from a previous owner and a short fold split, mended with archival tape.
