The Spanish King Philip IV commissioned the oil painting by Diego Velazquez 1634 – 1645 to commemorate the capture of the city of Breda during the Eighty Years War, a conflict between Spain which controlled the Low Countries, and the Dutch, who were fighting for political independence. This painting is one of the paintings that decorated the most lavish room in the palace, the Hall of Realms. This plaque weighs approximately 2 pounds 8 ounces, 1.12 kg and has a hanger for wall mounting. Age I believe this plaque is of vintage age. Maker Unknown. Marks Made In Spain.
