They are silver metal buttons with a shank on the back side for sewing or beading. The front side has a large pearl cabochon set in the center with 4 different shape jewels set around the edge. They are navette (marquis), oval, pear, and baguette (square) shapes. One or more stones may have yellowed or look cloudy on some buttons due to age. These buttons are just gorgeous to say the least.
