He was selected by the Broncos in the first round of the 2010 NFL draft.[3] With Denver, Thomas made five Pro Bowls and won Super Bowl 50 against the Carolina Panthers. He also played for the Houston Texans, New England Patriots, and New York Jets. On December 9, 2021, Thomas was discovered unconscious at his residence in Roswell, Georgia. He was later pronounced dead at the age of 33.
