Description: RARE collectors item conlinoceras (previously calycoceras) tarrantense ammonite, aka "woodbine" ammonite! These collectors' items only occur in a FEW COUNTIES in Texas, nowhere else in the world. Their occurrence in the Tarrant Formation at the bottom of the Eagle Ford Group makes these extremely hard to find since most of the geological exposures are now developed or on private land. This ammonite has been professionally prepared by Mercer Brugler of The Fossil Factory in Northlake, TX. 2 small cracks are visible but these are natural, no repairs have been made to this fossil. I PERSONALLY DISCOVERED EVERY AMMONITE I SELL UNLESS SPECIFICALLY NOTED. I will NOT share exact location, but for the sake of provenance I can share that this was found along the far western edge of Dallas County along the banks of the Trinity River. FREE SHIPPING WITH THIS ITEM! STAND IS INCLUDED! Ammonite weighs 2.8 oz. 2.25” diameter Estimated age 90-100 million years old (upper cretaceous) No one has owned this ammonite except myself, it was discovered in late 2023.
