Description: Penn Antique Restoration 31"x77" Antique Solid Wood Storm Door w/12 Lites & 1 Raised Panel Rare, antique, storm door salvaged from an old home in Northeastern, PA. The door is made of solid pine and has a worn stain and finish on both sides. This allows for an easier time refinishing/repainting. When most people hear "pine" they think of a cheap, weak, soft wood. New pine hewn from 10 - 20 year old trees don't have the same insect-resistant, rot-resistant, or even fire-resistant qualities that old pine, hewn from trees hundreds of years old have. Old pine is also much harder and stronger than young pine. The door has a removable window with 12 old, wavy glass lites. Hardware: The door is not equipped with any hardware. However, we have a good selection of period hardware to outfit it (check out our eBay store). * If you would like any of the hardware holes plugged with solid wood, please email us for a quote. Uneven Height: The height of the door was unevenly cut by 5/8" at some point, most likely to compensate for the home's settling foundation or a warped floor. We could cut it to an even 76 1/4", cut it narrower and/or shorter, or even build it up to make it bigger--message us for a quote Condition: The door is strong, sturdy, and in great structural condition. It only has nicks and scratches, but no breaks, cracks, gouges, rot, warp, or any other serious issues. Most of the blemishes that it has will disappear after sanding, prior to refinishing or repainting, and whatever remains will be subtle, "character marks." All of the glass is intact, and in great shape with only subtle scratches. Swing: The door was installed using strap-hinges. This means that the hinge mortises were never cut out on the door, letting you, now, install your hinges on either side defining its swing. Modification: We could also modify this door to fit your opening or suite your needs. We could make a frame, trim or add to the height or width, replace glass with screen, reverse the swing, plug the hardware holes, etc. Email us with a small description of what you would like done, and we'll give you a quote. Dimensions: Door: 31" x 76 1/4" - 76 7/8" x 1 1/8" Removable Window: 23 3/4" x 56 1/8" Glass: 6 3/4" W x 13" H Too tall, short, wide or narrow?
