40s Cocktail Dress L Vintage Mauve Pink Purple Lace Tulle Prom Gown Wedding

Description: Normal 0 MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 DESCRIPTION This is an absolutely gorgeous vintage formal gown from the 1940s, and it's in a rare larger size! The person I acquired this dress from said that it was worn by her grandmother as a "mother of the bride" gown for a wedding back in the 40s. The outer layer of the dress is made out of a floral lace that is a mauve pink color, and it is fully lined in light pink satin. The dress has a V-neck with pleated tulle trim, and the tulle is more of a purplish mauve color. The dress has a fitted nip waist, and the skirt has a flared A-line cut. In the front, there are two gores made out of the same purplish tulle as what is trimming the neckline. The dress closes with a metal side zipper. PLEASE NOTE: I displayed the dress over a crinoline to help show off the fullness of the skirt. However, the listing is just for the dress. The crinoline is not included. SIZING There are no size tags on this item, but I believe it would best fit a size Large. The actual measurements are as follows:Bust: 21" across, underarm to underarm (42" around) Waist: 16" across (32" around) Hips: 24.5" across (49" around) Length: 42" from the shoulder to the hem Note: These are the actual measurements of the garment, so please leave yourself room for comfort of movement. All measurements were taken with the item laying flat. The flat measurements were doubled to give an approximate measurement around. CONDITION This dress is in VERY GOOD condition for its age, but it has a couple minor flaws. I noticed that the lining of the dress has a couple water marks on the skirt, and there is also some very faint discoloration in the underarm areas. The marks are NOT visible through the tulle and lace layers. I also noticed a couple tiny little yellow marks on the central lace panel in the front of the skirt. The last three pictures show the flaws to the dress. The flaws really are minor. The dress is very beautiful and totally wearable as is!
