Description: This is an original 1938 stated first edition printing of "A Day of Battle," written by Vincent Sheean and published by Doubleday, Doran & Co. of New York. The original dust jacket is included. Overall, the copy being offered is in fair vintage condition. As you'll see in my first four photos, the covers have several small stains and moderate wear, and the dust jacket, while intact, has heavy wear and many small tears, some of which are reinforced with pieces of plastic tape. The pages are clean, crisp, and strongly-bound; the only marking or writing I found occurs on the inner flap of the dust jacket and two of the first four pages (written notations and a stamp bearing a previous owner's name). The insides of the covers are also discolored, have some stains, and have one piece of discolored plastic tape that originally held the inner flap of the dust jacket to the inside of the front cover.
