Description: A Very Rare/Fine Korean Pair of Boy/Girl Carved Wood/Polychromed Statues-19th C.:Korea, Joseon dynasty, 19th century.The Buddhist young boy (동자 童子 (菩萨的别称)-僧童) with holding a medicine bottle (Kundika) and the Buddhist young girl (동녀童女 (菩萨的别称)-僧童) with coiled long ribband hair polling down holding a large peach with the both hands, being presenting their calms and naive smiles, painted with white, black, blue, red, and dark yellow. Condition: The girl’s right-side crack due to age, otherwise they’re very fine condition but some polychrome enamels lost. it measures 41 cm h. and 38 cm h. (16.1” and 15”) ***Please compare with a pair of white glazed figures. ***Provenance: The Collection of a Former Australian Ambassador.
