Description: Adjustable Main Jet Kit for Mikuni TM24-9 The adjustable main jet kit will fit only the above carburetor and EHM's TM24 and TM26 carburetorsPlease be aware: An adjustable main jet will do no magic to a badly jetted carburetor. It is just a time saving tool facilitating the quest to find the correct main jet size, nothing more. Neither will it have any significant effect below 3/4 throttle openings. Once installed, however, you will find it indispensable. It gives you the possibility to make jetting corrections in a fraction of a second when weather conditions alter or you ride at different altitudes. It saves you from the time consuming dismantling of the float bowl every time you need to change main jet.INSTALLATION PROCEDURE Remove the float bowl from your carburetor. Remove the hex main jet and replace it with the o-ring adapter included i the kit - let the brass washer remain in situ. The enricher brass tube, circled in picture 5, must be shortened 0,24 inches (pic 4). Before assembling smear a drop of oil on the o-ring. This will make the float bowl slip in place easily. Please note that the pink hose must be routed through the loop of the float bowl pointing upwards (pic 2). This have two purposes 1) it will act as a fuel level indicator and 2) it prepares for any future power jet installation.Set the adjusting screw so that it corresponds to the main jet size you know is correct from before (see the chart below) and open it an extra half of a turn! Warm up the engine and go for a ride. Accelerate from mid throttle position in 3d or 4th gear and check the respons. If it is to rich go for a stand still and turn the adjuster clockwise a tad and go for a ride. Repeat until you notice where it responds best and you are able to ride in WOT without any lean tendencies. Better a tad rich than too lean.
