Description: OFFERING ORIGINAL ART NOUVEAU PRINTS & LITHOGRAPHS FROM MY PERSONAL COLLECTION AT LESS THAN DEALER COST Subject: a cancan dancer with her parasol and swirling red costume advertises a musical performance at the Little Christopher Garden Theatre in New York City. The original large poster was printed by H.A. Thomas & Wylie Litho Co as it says in a small area to the right of the dancer. Les Affiches Etrangeres were mini-posters, usually of Maitres de L’Affiche, in a production of only 1050 copies geared to the general public who could neither afford nor have room to display the larger posters. Etrangeres means Foreign and this one is from America (Amerique). This stone litho by G. Boudet is from the printing studio Chaix, owned by Jules Cheret. Size is 8-1/2 x 11-3/8 inches. Condition is good; there is some age toning, especially at the borders, the right bottom corner is bent. The image is charming and certainly suitable for framing. Shipping will be Priority Mail at the one-pound rate for the U.S. Inquire about International rates before bidding. Payment may be any accepted Ebay method within 3 days please. You may combine my print auctions and save on shipping costs. Thanks for looking. Listing and template services provided by inkFrog
