Description: A beautifully engraved mixed metal amulet-style pendant from Niger most likely made by the Tuareg. The pendant is 4 1/4" x 4 1/4”. The pendant is hollow and made of copper with brass, copper and some type of silver applied to the front. It is suspended from two riveted copper loops at the tips of the crescent shape. Attached to the bottom by a hinge is a feely dangling slightly curved trapezoid shape similarly decorated (photo #2 shows the necklace hanging so you can see how the bottom piece hangs from the top). My mother made this pendant into a necklace by suspending it from a silky double-stranded cord that is strung with bauxite beads from Africa and brass springs. It is a true statement piece!
