It offers a time signature range of up to 128 beats per pattern. Its tempo range is 20 to 255 bpm, or beats per minute. The device includes 12,000 notes, 400 patterns that have 200 for user and 200 presets, and 100 songs. It also includes 50 user kits and 50 more preset kits. The unit features two types of sync functions: both a MIDI-clock sync and a song position pointer sync. The 50 preset patterns are not simply programmed sound but actual recordings made by live studio performers. The rear of the Alesis SR-16 features two pairs of built-in stereo ports: main and auxiliary left and right outputs.
