It works fine being powered off the wall power but it will need a new battery (easy replacement). See pictures for the type of battery needed. This is a great entry level gaming laptop. It has nostalgic styling of the early 2010s Alienware that would also make a great addition to someone's collection. This is one of the nicest examples of this model you will find, they are getting very rare. Even being so old, Minecraft can run at 60fps on high settings Fallout 4 is playable at low settings. BeamNG.drive is also playable at low-medium settings. GTA V is also playable as well as most titles made before 2017. Newer games might struggle depending on the graphic intensity. The current CPU is one of the best ones you can get for this laptop, but there is still room to upgrade (Yes the CPU is upgradable!) The ram can also be upgraded to 16 GB if desired.
