Description: You get the exact one shown here: #cc1309-s3-091519. This AMETHYST SCEPTER specimen comes from THE ANDILAMENA QUARTZ QUARRY, AMBATONDRAZAKA, ALAOTRA-MANGORO, TAMATAVE PROVINCE, MADAGASCAR. This is a very small yet extremely interesting specimen that is an amethyst scepter with hematite on it and in it (two different forms). What is interesting is that the outer surface is shiny is some places and dull and textured in others. This difference is irregular in shape and is an outward expression of internal twinning. Generally Dauphine twinning causes this effect. The two crystals that comprise the cap are internally twinned and show one outward form aside from the clue given by the outer surface. Each of the twins have a different charge and that caused the difference in the surface luster and texture. I am pricing this at the exact price that was paid for this in 2006 at the Tucson show. An appropriate amount is added to that price to cover the curious "free" shipping that this item has. This specimen is approximately 3/4" wide x 1/2" x 1 7/8" Tall or in metric 1.9 x 1.3 x 4.7 cm .This weighs 0.35 ounces or 10 grams. The photos are very highly enlarged to show the fine state of crystallization, the surface features and the inclusions. Just to be clear: this is a small specimen that is shown with big pictures. This is shown with enlarged images so please note:This is shown with large high-resolution images. The photos show the specimen as if you were examining it with a magnifying glass. Every good detail, and every bad detail, is shown in a blaze of glory or shame as the case may be. No quartz collector (scepter collectors in particular) should be without a nice Andilamena Quartz Quarry specimen. This is from the collection of a discriminating Middle-Georgia collector with an eye for aesthetics and quality. It was originally purchased from Little Big Stone of Antanarivo, Madagascar at the Tucson Show in 2006. This choice specimen now bears a Dixie Euhedrals label and is back on the market 13 years later. This is priced at the exact same purchase price that was paid in 2006.
