Description: This is an old 19th Century had painted dog portrait center panel with cut steel border accents 17mm or 5/8" brass shank button from local estate of many buttons. I think the dog is painted on pottery or porcelain. I am not sure if this is considered as enameling. Under a loupe I see a grain of sand microscopic white spot on right side edge that I can not feel. I think it is like a factory or artist paint miss that was glazed over and not worth me noting. My camera and normal vision does not see this. Fabulous button in well cared for condition. You should love it. Thanks for looking.
