Description: We believe this to be an very rare AJ Whaley base. Unlike most Whaley's, this base is made from solid brass or bronze which was far less common than spelter. The base itself matches some as other Whaley bases that we had in the past years including one we have in stock which has been clearly established. The cap is solid bras or bronze with the Whaley style, threaded rod. This lamp base with shade weighs approx. 17 pounds. The shade is not signed, but as you can see, it could possibly the original to the base, if not definitely from that period. The shade is approx. 17 1/2" wide c-c with beautiful filigreed flower petals. The shade has no breaks or cracks that we can find, although one or two panel seems to have been changed at one time, not noticeable on the outside. The sockets are mixed, recently rewired for safety. Absolutely gorgeous shade and base combination, the lamp stands approx. 24" tall. We insure all items upon shipping, shipped in two boxes.
