Description: This is an Antique Ukiyo-e Japanese Woodblock Print depicting a Kabuki Actor by artist Utagawa Kunisada also known as Tokokuni II. This Print has been framed and matted in a painted gold & black wood frame under plexiglass. The Frame is in fair condition, and is about 7/8" thick. The Frame has spots, nicks, scratches and a crack on the bottom, but is overall solid. The Frame measures 19 1/2" by 14 1/2", and weighs about 2 LBS 12 OZ. The Woodblock Print measures 13" by about 9". The Woodblock appears to be in good condition, but does show signs of age, by some faded areas and some dark areas. The paper on the back of the frame is water damaged and has a rip. Someone wrote on the back side in pen, "For Cynthia Swain Crary 1972", and, "Kabuki Print - Ancient Japanese Traditional plays. This print bought in Marshall Fields - Sept 1960". Most of the items I sell are estate finds, and are presented to you in, as is, as found condition. They are described to the best of my knowledge. Some wear is to be expected, unless described as flawless or mint. I can't know everything about every item I offer, I do inspect each item and list all known flaws or damage. So please take a good look at the photos and ask questions if need be. Thanks for looking!#CD/c8 LA79D 9-10
