Description: Very old metal ‘jaws’ frame for a ladies purse, Victorian era. Measures 8.25” long when flat, hinged in two directions, to fit a circular sock type bag. Four Crowned Queen like medallions fastened security to each metal arm. Circa 1880s or thereabouts. It does not have a date on makers mark. It has a silver colored or brass plated finish showing some wear. The hardware itself is solid, all holes at the bottom edge complete. Fine to use.
