Description: up for consideration is a Regency period 1820's Telescopic/Metamorphic Mahogany Dumb waiter or 3 tier table. The table has a hidden release area of which when squeezed the 3 disc shaped tops divide and turn into a 3 tiered serving table or dumb waiter. In resting closed position it stands at about 29 inches in height...then when activated the center piece remains set and the bottom layer drops down and the upper portion popups to about 40.5 inches. This is a late Regency piece dating from about 1820's or so. The top is a bit stained and the bottom surface is it bit fickle meaning it may stay up or slide back down depending on it's mood. There are some minor light repairs...however it really is quite a handsome piece...almost looks Gothic with the tapered slender no frill design.
