Description: French tapestry depicting the Arms of Charles the Bold of Burgundy, 1433-1477. The colors are vibriant and there is a richness to the scene with two medieval women in local dress with flowers in their hands, one is waving the banner proclaiming Tapisserie aux Armes de Charles le temeraire de Bourgogne. The coat of arms is in the center with panels of fleu de lis, flowers and thistles are all around. At the bottom of the tapestry there is a unicorn and a griffin part of the mythology during this time in history. The measurements are 25" wide by 30" high with a 3" drop using the loops. The tapestry is finished with gold embossed ribbon around the edges and for the loops. The back shows the stitching outline. This is a magnificent piece.
