Description: Adorable quilt. I'd call it a bedspread rather than a quilt because it has no filling. All of the flowers are all hand appliqued on. Rest of it is machine sewn. Main color is yellow with the applique on muslin. I believe it was made in the 50's. I purchased at an estate auction. I got it home and I couldn't really understand what I had. It has a very large blank area at the top (where pillows are usually located, pictures 3 and 13) and it came with an additional piece ( pictures 21 and 22 ) I thought it must be a large pillow cover but it has no opening for a pillow and it is larger than the width of the quilt. My next guess is that is was for a daybed but that wouldn't work. So I'm at a loss for the blank area. I think this would be best for a person that can sew. Take apart the other piece and add it to the quilt. It really is adorable. Really wrinkled and it does have some spots on it. (Pictures were taken of some of those as well.) Would be really great for a repurpose project. Bedspread picures were taken on a queen bed. If I've totally confused you, please feel free to contact me.
