Defenders aren't supposed to attack. Defenders aren't supposed to have high power. Defenders are typically, not great in Magic. Arcades changes this. First you can draw a card every time a defender enters into the battlefield. Next, each creature you control deal damage equal to it's toughness. So your 0/4 is a 4/4 for 1 mana. A 5/9 is a 9/9. That's a huge difference. Now all you need is the ability to attack. That is exactly what this deck does. Sometimes you might be waiting for your attack opportunity, which is fine. Most of the time people won't want to attack into your huge walls. If you hate to follow the rules, then give this deck a shot.
