RPC Online only has 6 listed .. 3 in major collections with most very worn like this example. (cf. NN 52, Lot 940 for a nicer example than pictured in RPC currently). This coin is a smaller size variant that is unlisted in RPC or BMC. Use the Pictures as your judge as grading is subjective. Inventory: 62.17 Notes: Apollonis was an ancient city of the Lydian kingdom located in northern Lydia, on the Cissus, a tributary of the Hyllus, near modern Palamut. It was located south of Apollonia in Mysia, where there is a ridge of hills, after crossing which the road to Sardes had on the left Thyatira, and on the right Apollonis, which was 300 stadia from Pergamum, and the same distance from Sardes. The polis was named after the queen Apollonis, the mother of Eumenes II and Attalus II of Pergamum, in the place of an older city; possibly called Doidye. The town was mentioned by Cicero and was destroyed in 17 CE by the great earthquake that destroyed twelve cities of Asia Minor, though emperor Tiberius rebuilt the city.
