Description: This magnificent piece is 12 to 13th century BC, late bronze age, and comes from Lchashen, Armenia in the Seven Lakes Region, and is in magnificent shape, without a crack or a chip. When I first got it, I accidentally dislodged dirt from its original site that had been crammed into a small hole in the object’s handle. I’ve left some of that dirt in the hole so you can be the person to clear it out. This bowl is 8 1/2“ x 3 1/2“. In some of my notes on things for sale, I’ve mentioned something called a ‘dead dad’ collection. Dad collects pocket knives, or Aunt Minnie collects salt and pepper shakers, and when they shuffle off their mortal coil, someone, usually a child like my daughter, is stuck with a lot of stuff that they have to get rid of. That’s one of the reasons I’m selling off my collection, and the only reason that I would sell off this particular piece, which actually does come from a dead dad collection. The dad was a well-known dental surgeon and amateur archaeologist in Armenia, and I purchased this from his daughter. He was known to take material that was found by farmers as payment for dental surgery. His daughter was happy to sell this to me, and I thought it was worthwhile to pay the shipping from Armenia. I’m including the shipping for you, so at $239, this is a very good buy.
