You do not have to route the power cables down the pillars into the fuse box or cigarette lighter socket. Most importantly, you no longer have cables hanging from your devices on top of your dash. The adapter plugs into the connectors of your rearview mirror, where it will power your devices. You won't have to cut or splice into any wires. You won't have to search for power wires or worry that you will short or break something in your car. The adapters are capable of powering both radar and dashcam at the same time from the same source. Your devices will automatically turn on when the car is started and will turn off when the car is turned off.The rearview mirror does not have constant power, therefore it is not possible to use these for Parking Mode with dashcameras. The adapter will not provide power while the vehicle is off. Optionally, a radar Mute button can be added to the adapters (Escort and Uniden ONLY). This option, adds an external button, which will silence the radar when it is alarming. InstallationSee install video here - Adapter can be installed by anyone in a matter of minutes, install time is usually about 10-15 minutes for most people. - Simply remove the cover behind your rear-view mirror. Disconnect the plug connecting to the mirror, connect that plug to the adapter and then connect the other end of the adapter where the stock connector was connected. Route the cable as desired and connect to the radar detector and/or dash camera. Re-install the mirror covers and you're all done! - Your rear-view mirror must have electronics built-into it, in order for this adapter to work. For example, built-in compass, dimming glass, etc. If it does not have electronics, then using it to power your devices is not possible.
