As usual, one edge is slightly rough and uneven from being removed from the binding. And there'sa tiny brown freckle at the left margin near the beak of the bottom bird. This is an original hand-colored print - #220 - from the royal octavo first edition of John James Audubon's Birds of America, published 1840-1844. The first octavo edition was produced under the direct supervision of John James Audubon and features strictly hand-coloring. The credits are in italics, as required.
