It was manufactured in China in 1997 by Bandai, and is recommended for adults and teens alike. With its interactive features, this Tamagotchi is perfect for anyone who wants to experience the joys of owning a virtual pet. NOTE: Batteries are very old and should be replaced before pulling the tab to use. I have not opened after all this time. I have no idea if batteries started corrosion. Based on reading about others opening old ones many have no issues but some might have small corrosion which can be cleaned up with a Q-tip and rubbing alcohol.
