Description: This is an Estate Fresh from a local Estate home. Its a BEAUTIFUL SCARCE STERLING SILVER GORHAM " BUTTERCUP " 3 PIECE CARVING SET w the STEEL. Set comes in very nice condition as described above. So This is an old Gorham Silver Co Sterling Silver 3 piece carving set in the Gorham Buttercup pattern ca 1885. The 3 pieces all have that wonderful old Silver Patina. No dents or dings to the pieces anywhere. They do have monograms on handles though they are very difficult to read. The approximate measurements are: Fork : Handle 5 inches, full piece: 11.17 inches - The Steel or Sharpener: Handle 5 inches Full piece: 14 inches - Knife: Handle 5 inches . Full piece: 13.75 inches. The handles are all marked Gorham and ”Sterling”. I also believe the curve sided shields at the top of the handles are sterling as well. The heads to each piece is Steel. Its a beautiful set in the 3 piece set though usually only found with a 2 piece set of Knife and Fork. Having the sharpening Steel is a bonus!!
